Job Description
Job/Group Overview:
As a component of Nomura Execution Services, Platform Sales team’s core responsibilities include execution consulting, sales/marketing, client relationship management, business management, and product development for clients who formulate portfolio creation and position entry/exit decisions quantitatively and implement via systematic real-time methods.

As a member of the Platform Sales Team, the Business Development role will be responsible for the relationship management and administration of day-to-day quality assurance coverage for Platform Sales clients. You will work closely with a variety of teams throughout the organization including, within Prime Services, Equity Finance, Client Services, and Prime Services Sales, as well as teams in Algorithmic Trading, Research Sales, Information Technology, Operations, Legal, Risk, and Compliance. Externally you will be expected to maintain and enhance relationships with clients, exchanges, vendors, industry organizations, and the greater financial services community at large.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure quality of day-to-day coverage of Platform Sales order flow. Work to ensure proactive supervision and management of order flow including Pre-Trade and Post-Trade Processing. Work to maintain close contact with your teammates and others throughout the organization including Equity Finance and Listed Derivatives, as well as Technology, Operations, Risk, and Compliance.
  • Conceptualize and drive implementation of new business opportunities. Work with all internal business and corporate units necessary, as well as clients, in order to deliver new or improved business models, business processes, platforms. In particular, as a technology and efficiency focused business, work with Platform Sales Information Technology to enhance our platform capabilities and coverage levels while remaining efficient and scalable.
  • Interface with traditional Sales-Trading, Research Sales, Algorithmic Trading Sales, to ensure that you have up-to-date information regarding market trends and specific products/issues. Ensure that clients are informed of appropriate and applicable market information and color.
  • You will be expected to understand the business needs, counterparty selection criteria and process, revenue potential, and wallet-share capture of the Firm’s clients regarding their business activity.
  • Work with Platform Sales Project Managers to ensure an efficient and high-quality integration cycle for new clients and enhancement of existing connections.
  • Proactively monitor execution performance, analyse data to identify divergence points and root cause(s), and communicate findings within the firm to ensure ongoing improvement of execution performance.
  • Work with Information Technology to ensure proactive, timely, and consistent review and resolution of challenges encountered. Strive to achieve proactive identification of potential issues and work to resolve rather than supervision of resolution to reactively-encountered issues.
  • Work with Platform Sales Information Technology to conceptualize and drive implementation of technology that will enhance platform capabilities and coverage levels while remaining efficient and scalable.

  • Commitment to Excellence
  • JSDA RR 1 and 2
  • Cash Equity or Listed Derivatives execution experience in the Pan-Asian marketplace
  • Ability to think quickly and analytically in high-pressure fast-paced situations
  • Affinity for technology and automation
  • Understanding of front-to-back trade flow process
  • English, and preferably capabilities in at least one Asian language
  • Confident self-starter, ambitious and proactive
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Experience in resource planning and budgeting for technology-driven initiatives
