Job Description
Job/Group Overview:
The role is for a Senior Business Analyst within the Risk Change Function to work one or more projects within the Risk Management Programme reporting to Programme/Project manager.
As part of the Risk Global Book of Work covering Regulatory, Strategic and incremental business change there is a requirement for a delivery focused hybrid project manager/business analyst with credit/ market risk domain knowledge.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the gathering of business requirements, detailing current and best fit future state requirements for tactical and strategic solutions, balancing the speed to market, cost and benefit delivered.
  • Work with the key stakeholders (business, quants and Risk IT) to ensure all requirements surrounding the end to end process are clearly understood and appropriate, clear solutions are designed, documented and implemented.
  • Spearhead on assigned tasks, ability to influence key decision makers, peer groups and functions outside direct control.
  • Translate requirements into functional/non-functional requirements and collaborating with development teams for them to produce the technical design. Validate requirements through investigating data sources.
  • Good sense of ownership on works, acting as single point of contact with development teams if/should questions arise during the build. Escalate issues to the Project Manager and follow the appropriate governance structure of the programme.
  • Develop "best practice" analysis documentation standards to clearly define and communicate the business requirements and design & implementation of the most appropriate solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Support communications between Tokyo/overseas business users and the global Risk Change programs including escalation of issues and articulation of regional requirements.

Requirements:
Mandatory
  • Degree holder or above, with minimum + 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written in English
  • Exceptional documentation and data analysis skills
  • Experience with business analyst functions in SDLC or Business process design - gathering requirements and documenting them, coordinating User Acceptance Testing, interacting with different business units
  • The ability to be a "self-starter", working without supervision and a proactive approach
  • Excellent presentational, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at a range of levels within the organization
  • Strong proactive problem solving skills, good at details, tracking and control
Preferred
  • Speaking Japanese is a big plus
  • Understand key regulations (e.g., BASEL) to ensure requirements are in line with regulatory guideline
  • Experience of SDLC as system vendors or consulting company for finance industry
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft applications especially MS project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Understand Risk data structures (Logical and Physical) and be proficient in SQL and ideally Python
