Job/Group Overview:
Group Data Analytics Technology (GDA Tech) is part of the CTO group and is responsible for managing data and analytics technologies such as Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, and other proprietary tools. The Data CoE (Center of Excellence) accelerates data utilization at Nomura Group in Japan, and this data engineering position supports Data CoE activities from a technical perspective. |

Responsibilities: |
- Develop and implement data infrastructure and pipelines to support Nomura Group’s Enterprise Data Warehouse
- Collaborate with the data engineering team and business analysts to design, build, and enhance data processing systems and data warehouses, particularly Snowflake
- Implement new data governance tools, data protection, and data sharing capabilities to ensure compliance and security of data
- Lead the onboarding of new data sources and systems into the existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and data quality
- Streamline and optimize systems to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance of data processing and storage
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide data solutions to support business operations and analytics
- Conduct data quality checks, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data engineering, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure and processes

Requirements: |
Mandatory: |
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience as a data engineer, cloud engineer, infrastructure engineer, or an application developer
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL
- Experience with Windows and Unix/Linux systems
- Business-level English (TOEIC 930+ or Native) and Japanese proficiency (JLPT N2+ or Native)
- Knowledge of basic processes of system development projects (CI/CD, etc.)
- Task ownership, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

Preferred: |
- Certification in relevant data engineering technologies (Snowflake, StreamSets, Alation) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience in data engineering technologies (Snowflake, StreamSets, Alation) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience in enterprise-level cloud platforms (e.g., AWS PrivateLink, BYOK)
- Experience in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
