Function Overview:
The Global Markets Strategy team plays a pivotal role in shaping Nomura’s near and longer term strategy across Nomura’s markets businesses (Fixed Income and Equities) in Japan as well as globally. The team works closely with senior leadership on a range of management initiatives including business expansion strategy, market & competitor analysis, business planning and performance reviews, and client strategy. The team works directly with Senior Management to determine the right strategy and execution plan for reaching Nomura’s aspirations across businesses in a rapidly changing market environment.
The incumbent will work closely with senior management across the Global Markets and COOs/CAOs, as well as with key corporate teams such as Finance and Risk. The Japan Strategy team reports to Head of Global Markets Strategy as well as Japan GM senior management. |

Position Summary |
- We are looking to hire a Sales Business Manager at the VP/ED level to support Japan Fixed Income sales management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Fixed Income Sales in Japan and FI sales team in developing actionable sales analytics, contribute to improving business governance and operational efficiency, as well as providing support in day-to-day sales related issues/challenges. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to broader global Sales initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities |
- Run data analytics to support Japan FI sales leadership with actionable insights leveraging internal and external data (e.g. Coalition client wallet data)
- Prepare tailor-made performance reports to cater to specific requirements of sales and trading leadership.
- Drive cross-sell initiatives and help coordinate client strategy across asset classes and regions.
- Support resource planning, headcount tracking, budgeting, regulatory initiatives, and operational risk topics.
- Ensure alignment and communication across regional and global stakeholders (Tokyo, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, London).

Requirements: |
Mandatory |
- Strong background in Global Markets − preferably in business management, COO, or sales roles.
- Native Japanese with preferably strong English communication skills; experience working in a global or cross-cultural environment is a big plus
- Robust understanding of Japan’s financial markets, particularly in Fixed Income products, with the ability to navigate both local and global dynamics
- Proficient in working with sales performance and market intelligence tools including Coalition, Salesforce, and Power BI
- Curious and proactive, with a strong analytical skills, and experience in improving business processes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple senior stakeholders.
