Job/Group Overview:
Chief Transformation Office (CTO) owns the end-to-end delivery for Nomura Wholesale division for the strategically important and complex initiatives. This team manages the overall Change the Bank portfolio, ensuring efficient and effective implementation of key projects. The function brings together senior Project Managers across Technology and Operations in a single centralised team that will:
・Drive Efficiencies and create greater resource interoperability.
・Improve plan execution quality through rigor and pragmatic standards.
・Support Nomura in light of increased execution / investment scrutiny.

As a Project Manager/ Business Analyst, you are responsible for driving the connected Stakeholder agenda, bringing the best capabilities for improving stakeholder experience and building and maintaining senior Stakeholder relationships. We are looking for someone with strong work ethic to join a dynamic and fast-growing division, and who will play a key role in delivering firm critical projects.
 
Responsibilities:
● Stakeholder Engagement:
 ・Lead stakeholder engagements and work streams related to specific programs or portfolios, ensuring alignment with CTO values and principles.
 ・Develop and enhance relationships with key stakeholders, navigating the organization to drive programs effectively.

● Project Planning and Execution:
 ・Manage and coordinate project activities, including planning, risk management, issue resolution, budgeting, and lifecycle management.
 ・Lead a project team in executing all project-related activities, including business analysis to accurately comprehend and convey business requirements into detailed documentation for IT developers.

● Governance and Standardization:
 ・Establish and uphold robust governance frameworks to align technical solutions with business requirements.
 ・Ensure standardization in project/change management practices across programs and align them with organization wide practices.

● Reporting and Documentation:
 ・Prepare status reports, RAID logs, and other artifacts at the program level for various stakeholder groups.
 ・Conduct independent delivery risk assessments by adopting “gate checks” for key change initiatives in the program.

● Budget Management:
 ・Oversee annual budget preparation and collaborate with functional business managers to track actuals throughout the year.

● Facilitation and Leadership:
 ・Chair program working groups by setting the agenda and driving discussions alongside functional and technology leads.
 ・Apply well-developed consulting skills and in-depth industry and functional knowledge in the execution of assignments.

● Capability Building:
 ・Enhance the capability to manage delivery effectively and efficiently by coaching and mentoring Project Managers across the global organization

Requirements
Requirements:
<Mandatory>
  • 10+ Years of experience in Project Management and Business Analysis across large complex Global projects at a financial institution
  • Project management experience in the Front Office area and sound understanding of financial products like Derivatives, Bonds, Loans, Equity and their Trade Life Cycle
  • Strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills to build solid, trusting business relationships, with an ability to communicate effectively to a wide audience (e.g. Front Office, Compliance, Operations, IT etc.) while managing business stakeholders’ expectations
  • Creative and innovative thinking, with the ability to think ‘outside the box’ and leverage both agile and waterfall methodologies to implement tailored solution suited for the project
  • Experience working with technology teams to deliver complex solutions across multiple business areas, functions and locations
  • Must have the ability to structure and implement robust Governance and Communication framework at program level
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and is comfortable working in ambiguous situations and be able to articulate clearly about the risks and issues clearly.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight with attention to detail and high-quality standards of documentation, processes and control environment
  • Ability to work and perform effectively with a diverse set of individuals across the globe in a team environment
  • Experience in collating requirements and translating them into user, functional, and non-functional specifications and coordinating with development teams to clarify design needs.
  • Experience in defining testing approach, test plan and test co-ordination
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Japanese (business level)−both written and spoken; English (business level)−both written and spoken.
<Preferred>
  • Demonstrated experience working within Equities, Prime Brokerage, or Fixed Income divisions, with a solid understanding of the operational and regulatory landscape in these areas
  • Familiarity with the trade lifecycle, including order management, execution, clearing, and settlement processes, as well as knowledge of relevant regulations such as MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, or Basel III.
