Job Overview:
・The role of Head Wholesale Production Services for Japan will provide strategic vision and leadership for Nomura's critical production environment. This position combines operational excellence with transformational leadership, overseeing Production Services teams encompassing both Wholesale and Corporate IT departments while driving modernization initiatives that ensure regulatory compliance and maintain high availability of all critical banking applications and infrastructure.
・Reporting functionally to the Global Head of Wholesale and Corporate Production Services and locally to the Heads of Wholesale and Corporate IT departments, the candidate in this role will serve as the key liaison between business and corporate stakeholders, ensuring seamless operations across our diverse portfolio of financial services.

■ Responsibilities:
<Strategic Leadership & Vision>
・Provide vision and leadership to the Wholesale and Corporate Production Services groups, delivering availability, stability, and overall performance of applications and services that underpin the Wholesale and Corporate businesses
・Define and execute regional strategy for production management, platform resilience, and IT operations, aligning with global business objectives and regulatory requirements
・Lead a large, distributed team across Front, Middle and Back Office, Risk, and Corporate functions across all asset classes
・Maintain accountability for service continuity, major incident response, and operational risk governance
・Engage with senior business executives and stakeholders up to Senior Managing Director level as the face of IT production services
<Operational Excellence & Incident Management>
・Lead high-severity and crisis-level incidents across IT, establishing and organizing recovery teams while providing executive-level escalation and communications to ensure transparency and clear status of remedial actions
・Protect the production environment through accountability for oversight and improvements across Incident, Problem, Event, Knowledge, and Change management disciplines
<Transformation & Modernization>
・Lead transformative programs and projects to modernize the application Production Support function
・Manage the continuous flow of change into the production environment to optimize application performance and stability, enhance business functionality, and ensure successful business and IT transformation delivery
・Champion key technical initiatives that enhance service quality and efficiency, driving both Japan and Global agendas on AI, monitoring, and automation
・Partner with functional development leads to improve operational efficiencies, resilience, and stability of applications while driving down running costs and reducing operational risk
・Enhance service support capability by driving automation initiatives to eliminate manual tasks
・Develop unified, data-driven operational dashboards for enhanced transparency and operational readiness
・Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements to identify and resolve implementation gaps
<Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management>
・Bring deep understanding of Japan's business and regulatory environment, advocating for necessary changes with global and local teams
・Ensure strict compliance with local, national, and international regulatory requirements governing technology incidents and operations
・Work closely with IT Risk and Control, Operational Risk Management, and internal and external Audit to ensure Production Services actions are defined and delivered to agreed schedules
・Ensure IT teams across Wholesale and Corporate functions adhere to policies and controls governing the production environment
・Maintain acute awareness of compliance obligations and operate with precision within rigorous regulatory and audit frameworks
<Team Development & Governance>
・Foster career development for Japan Production Services members, working with global functional leads to unlock team potential and support professional growth
・Manage and optimize Production Services budgets and resources, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities
・Oversee vendor relationships and contract negotiations to optimize service delivery and cost-effectiveness
・Ensure compliance with company rules and regulations for all Production Services team members |

| <Education & Experience> |
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field required
- 15+ years of technology experience in financial services
- Proven experience in international banking or financial services environments
- Understanding of critical production support aspects including monitoring, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery simulations
- Experience leading transformative programs in application production support
- Experience with change management disciplines and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven track record in crisis management and executive-level incident response
- Experience working with audit teams and regulatory bodies in financial services
- Understanding of ITIL concepts and tools such as ServiceNow; migration experience highly valued

- Track record of leading medium to large teams across multiple countries
