This position is for a Senior Developer within the Japan Domestic Trade Processing IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of multiple systems supporting the Fixed Income (Rates) business in Japan. These systems provide critical business functionality, including pricing, trade execution, position management, P&L, and risk management for products such as bonds and repos.
We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on developer with strong skills in Java, UNIX, scripting, and database technologies. Preferably, the candidate will have knowledge of Fixed Income products, particularly bonds. Experience with C/C++ is an advantage. The role will focus primarily on the development, enhancement, and modernization of applications, while also taking ownership of existing systems. |

| Responsibilities： |
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and infrastructure migration of Japan domestic applications, and assume responsibility for the testing and deployment of migration and rewrite initiatives.
- Collaborate with the business (Fixed Income Trading), other technology teams, and corporate functions―including Product Control, Finance, and Compliance―to understand requirements and deliver solutions that address their needs.
- Provide second- and third-level production support for Japan domestic applications used for position and risk management and deliver user-driven enhancement requests for these systems.
- Perform impact analysis and implement market and regulatory changes across legacy applications.
- Own end-to-end application releases and regression testing, and introduce automation, DevOps practices, and IT transformation initiatives into legacy applications where feasible, without compromising system stability.

| ＜Mandatory＞ |
- 6-8+ years of hands-on software development experience in C/C++, Java and Spring on Linux, with scripting proficiency in Perl and/or Shell.
- Strong database expertise, including MQ SQL, Sybase, and/or other relational database technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; business-level Japanese proficiency is preferred.
- High level of initiative with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality code in fast-paced development environments; results-oriented and able to succeed within a disciplined, high-productivity, low-overhead development process.
- Solid understanding of design patterns and multi-tier enterprise application architectures.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks, including JUnit and mocking frameworks.
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools, such as AutoSys (or equivalent).
- Strong team collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across local and global teams.

| ＜Preferred＞ |
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and industry best practices, including distributed transaction processing, with proven experience analyzing and translating business documentation into technical requirements.
- Prior software development experience within the financial services industry; knowledge of the Fixed Income domain is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks such as React/Angular is preferred.
- Japanese language proficiency is beneficial.
- Demonstrated proficiency with DevOps practices, cloud technologies, and automation frameworks.
- Prior knowledge of Nomura systems and experience collaborating with Nomura teams is highly advantageous.
